A month ago, I happened to come across a huge bin of old patterns I had stored in the attic. After thumbing through over 50 patterns, I was inspired to start making clothes again. Did I mention the patterns had been stored in my attic for about 6-8 years. Over that time and one additional child later, I had gained some weight. Therefore most of my patterns were for the smaller size and would not work for me anymore. I was able to salvage about ten patterns.
So I headed to my local Joann’s as they had McCall’s patterns on sale. Here are the patterns I picked up.
McCall’s Pattern Haul at Joann’s
McCall’s 7863- I really love view A, and plan to make this out of a peach skin fabric. Not sure on the color yet, but I will browse and find one soon as I want to get this on the machine within the next few weeks.
McCall’s 7351 – Yes, I am obsessed with shirt dresses right now. With this pattern I will make view C and View A. I would like to use an Ankara fabric for view A, and a poplin fabric with slight stretch for view C.
McCall’s 7632 – This jumpsuit pattern is so cute. If I had the confidence I would make view A. I may go ahead and make this view for my 19 year old daughter who has the body to pull it off. For me, I love view B. I want to use a lightweight flowy fabric. I may even try a floral print similar to what is shown on the pattern.
McCall’s 7774 – This dress pattern caught my eye. View D is my favorite, but I will also look at making view B. I love linen and view D seems like it will be the perfect dress for a lightweight linen blend summery dress.
McCall’s 7608 – Another cute jumpsuit pattern. I love view C and view D. Both I will make out of a lightweight rayon fabric.
McCall’s 7626 – View D is what attracted me to this pattern. I like the overall type jumpsuit and think it will look great in a stretchy twill fabric.
McCall’s 7899 – I love cute tops, and view A is just my style. I have already made a cute linen top, and will make a few more of these in some rayon prints and solids.
McCall’s 7663 – I got this pattern to try my hand and making some exercise pieces. I normally buy all of my exercise clothes from old navy, but when I saw the top on this, I had to grab it.
McCall’s 7757 – I love the comfort of this pants pattern, but not sure about my confidence in the top. I will make a few of he pants, and maybe extend the length of the top of view A and C. Again, flowy spring prints and some light weight linen are perfect for this pattern.
McCall’s 6891- I mentioned earlier that I was obsessed with shirt dresses right now. As I am writing this blog, New York and company have some similar styled shirt dresses in adorable polka dot prints….priced at $89 bucks a dress. I will make view A out of a polka dot poplin fabric.
McCall’s 6696 -Another shirt dress pattern. This one has a cute fitted version on View C, and I love view A. I will make view C out of a stretch denim fabric.
I will post a video of this pattern haul on YouTube in a few days. Also stay tuned for updates on the pieces as they are made, and a recap in my upcoming January monthly makes.
